Been away a month

I actually thought about not blogging anymore because I had been away so long.  Then my fingers and brain got itchy to write.  I also needed to see what you folk out there had been doing.  So I think the best way for all of us, is to do a quick pictorial of May and then two of June.  I have been camping for over three weeks this time and am now at home for a week with Internet access.  So here are some May photos.
I gave out carnations and baby's breath to mothers/grand-mothers/great-grandmothers on Mother's Day Sunday at church.  The leftovers came back to me.

May's lilacs were lovely, scenting the village.  The pioneers who first settled here during the gold rush, must have missed this shrub from their homelands, as they are everywhere.  I went up and down the alleys of the village to pick these that hung over fences.  My mother painted lilacs on the limoge china vase for Old Man Watching and was painting his favorite flower on it when she died.  It needed another firing but Old Man liked it the way it was.  She was making it for a Christmas present but died on St.Patrick's Day in March.  I can't believe it was the 80's when she died.

We had taken the RV home for a week and went back to luckily find the best spot for the Grandkids' visit.  The geese came early one morning with 4 goslings.

Our grand-daughter came for her week of playing hooky and being with Nanny for fishing/camping/horsemanship.
She loves fishing in the AM in pajamas.  This was her second trout.
  A

friend came to take her kayaking to see the beaver lodges on the other side of the lake.  But she still had to do her violin practising every day.

She took 4 days of horsemanship and was doing rising trots by the last afternoon.  She was even doing hoof pick up and cleaning on the second day....
Nanny had a fun time with her.

  1. Oh, Karyn, please don't just go away! You are missed here!! I'm so happy to catch up with you and see your great photos. How fun for your granddaughter, to take a week off from school to camp with you. Those are memories she will hold in her heart for years and years to come. Time with grand parents is so special. Lilacs are my favorite flower. I miss them, since they don't grow in Florida. Lovely to see.

  2. No, don't go. Lovely to see your pics and red your fascinating tales of travelling gypsy life. Hope to see you over on NewMuze perhaps one day. Here's what I've been doing:

    2. Dear barbara....I don't do Facebook and it is all I can do to keep up to e-mail. Blogging is something I miss because I like to find out about lives around the world. I don't have a contact in South America yet, or Ireland or Scotland. Do you have a contact to connect me with?

  5. Karyn, I read one of your posts from 2012 about a trip to Manitoba and a stop at a cemetery in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. I am currently documenting that cemetery and I recently visited the gravesite of you parents. It is still in good shape, but I will trim the grass back a little next time I go there.

    1. Well that is kind of spooky. I had a request from you to join me on google a few days ago I think but didn't know who you were. So try again if that was you. How did you find a 2012 blog? I have been there 3X ... once to bury my father by my mother in the family plot and then to clean the sites as we passed through the prairies. We would park there and eat lunch and the old guy would have a nap while I swept and wiped and took pictures. We will probably never be there again as our RVing days are coming to an end. I needed the pictures to send to sisters and brother. My brother does the family geneology. The original pioneer Fees had a farm outside of SC and the movie odeon that has a brick wall we found downtown.
